I. Application of Rates
A. Rates in this Section apply only on cargo moving
under this Tariff and having an immediate prior or
subsequent movement on vessels operated by Carrier and
which is loaded or unloaded at the Port of Long Beach.
Wharfage is solely the charge for use of wharves or
wharf premises and does not include charges for any
other service or facility.
II. Wharfage Charges
A. The Wharfage Rates named in this section are in
dollars per container or per unit. All items not
specifically noted and/or shown on the Wharfage
Index shall be assessed Wharfage at the Port Cargo,
NOS Wharfage rates.
III. Definition of "NOS" in this Section
For purposes of this Section, the abbreviation "NOS"
means "NOT otherwise specified" as a commodity in this
Section.
IV. LTL Cargo
LTL Cargo shall be rated at the Cargo, NOS, 20' per
container rate, for Measure Cargo.
V. Mixed Shipments

When two or more commodities which have different rate
applications are mixed in one container, the highest
wharfage level of any commodity in the mixture will apply
to the entire container.
Cargo, NOS: When freight charges are computed on a weight
basis.

NOTE 1: As an exception to V. above, a container must
contain at least two different commodities each of which
is manifested on (rated on) a (1) weight or (2) measure
basis. A commodity will constitute a different commodity
when it is rated in a separate item in the Carrier's
