(a) Keys to ignition, gas cap and trunk or other locked
compartments must be surrendered with the vehicle when
tendered for shipment.
(b) Vehicles, including freight or house trailers, will
not be accepted for shipment if personal effects are
contained therein. However, small items such as
thermos bottles, bottle warmers, car cushions and
similar low value items for the comfort and/or
convenience of a passenger car driver or passengers on
long trips may be included in an automobile if packed
in a carton no larger than 2.11 cubic feet. An infant
car seat or crib will be considered an integral part
of the vehicle. The locked trunk may contain one or
two snow tires, tire chains, jack, fire extinguisher
and related tools of low value.
(c) Except as otherwise provided in specific items,
undeclared personal effects or other contraband
articles, if found in transportation contained in a
vehicle, will be assessed separate freight charges
under cargo, NOS items of this tariff, subject to a
minimum charge of $207.00. No firearms or ammunition
of any type will be accepted for shipment or
transported. (A)
(d) Vehicles destined to or originating from Hawaii
which have six (6) or less inches clearance from the
ground shall not be accepted for shipment.
In addition, Carrier's Operations Department reserves
the right to refuse transportation of any vehicle
which in its judgment is not suitable for an ocean
voyage or cannot be safely loaded to or unloaded from
Carrier equipment.
(e) If Shipper fails to provide Carrier with required
documentation for the shipment of a vehicle pursuant
to this tariff, including documentation clearly
demonstrating Shipper's ownership of the vehicle or
Shipper's authority to cause the vehicle to be
transported, Shipper shall indemnify Carrier against
all claims, expenses, liability, loss, damages,
penalties, fees, including attorney's fees, and fines
arising out of or related to Shipper's failure to
provide Carrier with the required documentation,
including Shipper's lack of authority to cause the
vehicle to be transported.
(f) If Shipper books vehicle shipment online, receiving a
booking prefix of PV, Shipper will receive a rate
$50.00 less than the rate filed in commodity
0287-03-8500 or 0878-60-0000 for making their booking
online via www.pashahawaii.com.
