Free Time and Demurrage on Cargo Held at Mainland Port
Terminals
When cargo is held awaiting proper documentation or payment
of freight charges or when Shipper, Consignee or his agent,
prior to or after cargo has been tendered to Carrier,
instructs Carrier to hold said cargo, charges will be
assessed as provided below:
A. Free Time
1. Ten (10) calendar days will be allowed (Saturday,
Sunday or holidays included)
2. Free Time will commence at first 8:00 a.m. following
receipt of cargo at Carrier's mainland port terminal.
B. Demurrage Charges (A)
Cargo in Carrier's or Shipper owned/leased dry containers
or cargo not moving in containers:
1. $34.00 per 20', $67.00 per 40' and $93.00 per 45B per
day or fraction thereof for the first five (5)
calendar days following the expiration of Free Time
(Saturday, Sunday and holidays included).
2. $67.00 per 20', $136.00 per 40' and $182.00 per 45B,
per day or fraction thereof thereafter (Saturdays,
Sundays and holidays included).
C. Free Time
1. Two (2) calendar days will be allowed (Saturday,
Sunday and holidays included) for cargo in Carrier's or
Shipper owned/leased temperature controlled or bulk tank
containers:
2. Free Time will commence at first 8:00 a.m. following
receipt of cargo at Carrier's mainland port terminal.
D. Demurrage Charges (A)
1. $8.00 per day or fraction thereof for the first five
(5) calendar days following the expiration of Free Time
(Saturday, Sunday and holidays included)
2. $135.00 per calendar day or fraction thereof thereafter
(Saturdays, Sundays and holidays included)
